The campsite view during my first morning along the route.
I made photographs for as long as I could while being covered in a cloud of torturous mosquitoes. It was a scene worthy of enjoying for hours, however the mosquitoes refused to let that option happen. The price paid for beauty.
The mosquito bites from that first morning lasted for the first month of cycling this route. I had giant welts on my legs for hundreds of miles.
